Hi friends and family! As part of Aphasia Awareness month, Minnesota Connect Aphasia Now (MnCAN) is providing an opportunity for us to educate others about PPA and related disorders resulting in aphasia – a video of one of our group members shares her personal journey with PPA after being diagnosed not too long ago. We also include tips on how to assist members of the family or the person with PPA. MnCAN has been an important help in this journey by providing education, hope and support from others dealing with the same diagnosis. You can read more and also support MnCAN on my page. Learn more about all of this here: (insert link to your page here) Thank you for being an important part of our lives and supporting us in our journey. Sincerely, (your name)

Hi friends and family! As many of you know, [my loved one ______] was diagnosed with aphasia [date or how long ago]. Aphasia affects ____’s ability to communicate – they know what they want to say but cannot always translate that to speaking or writing. Although ____ is the same person we have all known and loved, this disorder has had a profound impact on our lives over the past several years. As difficult as living with aphasia can be, I am grateful because we’ve found a community that understands what it’s like to live with this disorder each and every day. Minnesota Connect Aphasia Now (MnCAN) is a nonprofit that brings together the aphasia community across the state to help not just improve ___’s communication skills, but perhaps more importantly to build an inclusive community who understands the journey we are on and help us both participate more fully in life in the process. I have connected with a group of people who know what it is like to support a loved one with aphasia, AND we both have found a welcoming group of friends who totally understand what we are experiencing as we make our way through this journey with aphasia. It would mean the world if you would support us in this challenge by donating to MnCAN, the organization that makes it possible for us to move forward in our aphasia journey and who is helping ____ to regain their communication skills each day. You can do so by visiting our personal fundraising page here: [insert fundraising link] No amount is too small – every dollar means more people can receive the greatly needed support to regain communication skills and thrive with aphasia. Thank you for being an important part of our lives and supporting us in our journey with aphasia! Here’s to thriving, (insert name)
