Day 26 of MnCAN’s 30 Days of Life with Aphasia — Meet the Glencoe Aphasia Conversation Group!

In January of 2026, MnCAN launched its newest aphasia conversation group at Glencoe Regional Health, just a short drive west of the Twin Cities. Led by Alexis Fronk, an SLP (and former MnCAN graduate student intern), Wayne, Tom and Paul come together each week to share their highs and lows before diving into conversational topics including gardening, hobbies, and past careers.

And the best part? They have started sharing garden produce, baked goods and even tips on riding a three-wheeled trike after a stroke.

These guys share a common bond – they all are living successfully with aphasia and now have found connection and community together. As one of the guys stated, “we make the best team!”

We all need a team – people we can trust, people who understand us and people who cheer us on – that is what they have found together.

We have just 4 days left in our June Aphasia Awareness Fundraiser – all donations are doubled thanks to a generous donor. No gift is too small.
