Minnesota Connect Aphasia Now is committed to the privacy of our donors and others who have communicated with MnCAN through our website. We commit to safeguarding your private information including credit card, email and other identifying information.  The following identifies our general information gathering and usage practices.  

 

Our Focus and Mission:  

MnCAN’s mission is to improve the life participation of individuals impacted by aphasia through comprehensive programs, education, peer connections and community support.  MnCAN’s programs are guided by principles of the Life Participation approach to aphasia (LPAA) that focus on functional communication and programs to encourage re-engagement in life and community.  If you have questions on how to use www.mncan.org, please contact contact@mncan.org.

All information on www.mncan.org as well as the organization and layout of the website, is owned and copyrighted by MnCAN, unless otherwise noted.  All rights are reserved.  Except as expressly authorized by MnCAN, it is not permitted to copy, distribute, resell, display, sublicense, or create derivative works based on such information from the website, in whole or in part.  

Use of Materials: 

Content published to and resources included on the MnCAN website is for promotional purposes only and is provided to you solely for you own personal, non-commercial use and not for purposes of resale, distribution, public display without permission from MnCAN administration.

MnCAN accepts no responsibility or liability for incorrect or misleading information or its use as obtained through the internet.  MnCAN’s website also includes links to external websites and materials created and controlled by parties other than MnCAN.  These links are provided only for the convenience of users of this site and any information obtained thereby does not necessarily represent the opinions of MnCAN.  MnCAN makes no representation about the accuracy of any information contained in these links.  It is solely your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of all opinions, advice, services, merchandise, and other information provided through the site.

  1. Making an online donation, event registration or opting into our newsletter list, will automatically add you to the list of people who receive our monthly e-newsletter, fundraising appeals, and other event news through email and/or direct mail. If you wish to be removed from this list, subscribers may choose to unsubscribe at any time; unsubscribe information is located at the bottom of each enews communication or by contacting contact@mncan.org.  
  1. Information collected and used includes personal information (name, address, birth date, email, phone number, credit card number, family members) obtained from donors, program participants and prospects through pledge cards, letters, surveys, applications, donations, event registrations, inquiries, and other forms, in writing, in person, by phone, or electronically.
  1. Individual information may also be collected about donors and their present and past giving history, volunteer activity, and any other interactions an individual may have had with MnCAN.
  1. MnCAN uses secure transaction methods (SSL) when collecting credit card information over the internet. MnCAN does not disclose to third parties credit card account information provided to it via www.mncan.org. 
  1. MnCAN may track information as to which of our website pages are being visited and used so we can make decisions about the design and use of the site.
  1. MnCAN does not share, sell or trade your email address, mailing address, phone number or other personal information.
  1. Without the donor’s consent we do not provide donor information to organizations or individuals outside the organization.
  1. We educate our employees, independent contractors, and volunteers on the importance of protecting the privacy and security of confidential personal and organizational information.
  1. We will use our best efforts to comply with the expressed wishes of any donor who does not want their name used in any promotional material, wishes their name removed from solicitation lists, or wishes to have their gifts or services be anonymous.

We review our privacy practices from time to time, and these practices are subject to change. Any change will be effective immediately upon posting on our Website and by changing the effective date above.
