Day 22 of MnCAN’s 30 Days of Life with Aphasia — Meet Jim!
Today, we’re honored to introduce Jim.
June 22nd is a significant day for Jim and his family, as it marks the anniversary of his stroke. Since that life-changing event, Jim has continued to move forward with determination, resilience, and the support of those who love him.
Jim and his wife, Kathy, enjoy spending time together and cherish every opportunity to be with their eight grandchildren—soon to be nine! Family is at the heart of Jim’s life, and he treasures the moments they share together.
Jim appreciates the kindness, patience, and understanding of the MnCAN community, especially because it can sometimes take longer for him to express his thoughts and find the words he wants to say. At MnCAN, we know that meaningful communication is about taking the time to listen, connect, and support one another.
One thing everyone notices about Jim is his contagious laugh. His sense of humor, warmth, and positive spirit brighten our conversations and remind us all of the joy that can be found in community.
Jim, we are grateful to have you as part of our MnCAN family. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and for inspiring others through your perseverance and positivity.
If you’d like to support MnCAN’s mission of providing connection, conversation groups, education, advocacy, and support for people living with aphasia and primary progressive aphasia, please consider making a gift during Aphasia Awareness Month.
