Day 18 of MnCAN’s 30 Days of Life with Aphasia — Meet Ken!
Ken is known throughout the MnCAN community for his kind, calm, and welcoming presence. Whether he is participating in a conversation group, attending an event, or connecting with a new member, Ken has a special way of making others feel comfortable, valued, and understood.
Since joining MnCAN, Ken has found friendship, connection, and a supportive community of people who truly understand life with aphasia. In return, he has become a source of encouragement and hope for others who are navigating their own communication journeys.
Ken has participated in a MnCAN Conversation Group and Drama Club, where he continues to build connections and confidence while sharing plenty of smiles and laughter along the way.
Ken embraces life with gratitude and purpose. His positive outlook reminds us that aphasia may change the way we communicate, but it does not change our ability to build friendships, inspire others, and make a difference.
Ken has even added the title “author” to his name and wrote a book about his personal story- Anything But Frank, by Kenneth Kerns
Thank you, Ken, for the warmth, friendship, and hope you bring to the MnCAN community every day.
