Day 16 of MnCAN’s 30 Days of Life with Aphasia – Meet Rebecca – One of MnCAN’s Amazing Facilitators!

For the past several years, Rebecca has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with aphasia through her work as a MnCAN facilitator.
Rebecca first joined our facilitator team by leading a group at United Hospital, where she also works as a Speech-Language Pathologist. When in-person groups began returning after the pandemic, Rebecca helped bring back a St. Paul group at United Hospital, creating a welcoming space for people with aphasia to reconnect, communicate, and build friendships once again.

Rebecca’s group members often share how much they appreciate her sense of humor, kindness, encouragement, and ability to make every session engaging and fun. From thoughtful conversations to creative activities, Rebecca always finds ways to keep participants connected and involved. One memorable session even featured a cheese tasting and discussion about different types of cheese – a perfect example of the creativity and joy she brings to her groups!

Rebecca now facilitates two in-person aphasia groups – recently launching a new group in the Southeast Metro, where she has welcomed new participants with open arms and continues to foster an atmosphere of support, laughter, and connection.

We are incredibly grateful for Rebecca’s dedication, creativity, warmth, and unwavering commitment to helping individuals with aphasia build confidence and meaningful relationships. Thank you, Rebecca, for all you do for the MnCAN community!
