Because of your generosity, Marilyn has found connection and community - she has met new people and no longer feels so alone.

Because of your support, Ken has grown in confidence and rediscovered his voice - he has written a book.

Because of your patience, Bruce now feels empowered to order at a restaurant on his own.

Your growing awareness of aphasia and Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA) is creating a more inclusive and compassionate world.

Because of you, MnCAN is able to continue fulfilling its mission -supporting communication, connection, and community for those living with aphasia and PPA.

Continuously grateful and humbled,

Angie Maier and Jessica Wald

Coffee and Connections

One of our goals is to find creative ways to help our community connect. The Coffee and Connections monthly gatherings have been a wonderful way to help our participants, care partners, group facilitators, board members and staff connect with each other in a casual, relaxed setting.

We have hosted three of these events and our average attendance has been 15 people.

We would love to see you at our next Coffee and Connections in August. See below for details!

Backyard Pizza Party

MnCAN Co-Directors Angie and Jessica were thrilled to be included in the backyard brick-oven pizza party hosted by a MnCAN participant and her care partner. This unique experience was made possible during our 2024 Break the Barriers Gala live auction. One of the winning bidders? Our long-time supporters and friends at Mindful Asset Planning.

Thank you, Mindful Asset Planning, for your continued generosity and partnership. Thank you to Mike and Marcia Faust for hosting the party and donating this experience. Everyone enjoyed the conversation and delicious wood-fired pizza! We were all reminded of the meaningful work that happens when people are connected.

We are looking for artists and makers in our MnCAN community to help us design NEW MnCAN t-shirts and coffee mugs. Have a fun idea or design in mind? We would love to see it!

Also, as we prepare for our Break the Barriers Gala in September, we look forward to featuring original art and handmade crafts in our silent auction. If you have a creative project you would be willing to donate, it is a wonderful way to share your talent and support MnCAN.

Let’s celebrate the creativity of our community together!

If you are interested in submitting a design or donating a piece, please email contact@mncan.org.
