SUMMARY:United Hospital In-Person Aphasia Conversation Group
DESCRIPTION:Aphasia conversation groups are 6-7 people with aphasia who gather to practice conversation techniques and find connection. The groups are facilitated by a speech language pathologist and focus on both the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia (LPAA) and Supportive Conversation for Aphasia (SCA). Conversation groups are a great opportunity to gain confidence and build friendships to continue to participate in life with aphasia. \nThis group meets at United Hospital. \nRegistration is required. DESCRIPTION:This is a conversation groups for persons with Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). Conversation groups are a safe place for people to practice conversation techniques and strategies with peers. This is a small group of 5-7 people who are supported by a Speech Pathologist group facilitator and trained volunteers. It is a great opportunity to gain confidence and build friendships with others who are on the same journey to live more successfully with aphasia! \nThe Zoom link will be sent be the facilitator after registration. \nThis group is intended for participants who have already completed the PPA Staying Connected 8-week class. \n
